ARUL RYOUYA
19 ♦ MALE ♦ STRAIGHT(?) ♦ BUSINESS OWNER ♦ IDIN
PERSONALITY
One to shy away from conflict, Arul lies and play nice with virtually anyone. His life revolves around not making enemies and staying out of sight, but the latter proves difficult from how he is half-Nibiri and in a position of growing import in his family business. So instead he carries himself with dignity in public, careful in his posture and even more so with his manners as to not bring trouble to himself, or most importantly, his family.
In his private life, Arul is similarly quiet in front of his father and stepmother. While his father treats him better than his stepmother does, Arul still found it quite hard to open up to him. The only time he ever be himself is when he's with his two brothers, so anyone else gets the same treatment: polite, distant and above all, quiet. After all, he is already not pure Shambalan, and to impose on other people further would be over the top.
That's not to say he is the same inside. Arul is, despite a foreigner himself, is racist. He conforms to their values, near to the extreme as if to prove that he can be one of them just as well. He can be regarded as someone shallow and ignorant, someone who blindly follows what's the norm, and it wouldn't be wrong. They have suffered his presence long enough, after all. The least he could do is to accept them as they are. Any thoughts of his own, he tries not to entertain them.

- Half-spirit of a Naga
- He has two horns pointing towards the back of his head, and a tail - hard, dark and scaled - behind.
- His right arm came with a birth mark that coiled around it, resembling a naga with its head resting on the back of his shoulder.
HISTORY
As obvious as how his skin is significantly darker than most of his family's, Arul is not born from two Shambalan parents. His father was one, but not his mother who lives far off in Nibiru. Their whole history started due to his father's indiscretion, one who found it hard to even conceive a single child, and in a trip to Nibiru, did the deed with a woman who caught his fancy. It was mutual, and three days later he left the woman for he had to go home, unbeknownst to him that the woman was then impregnated.
Several years later, the child who is now his eldest brother grew, and after that several years his father returned to Nibiru for another business trip. He thought to visit the woman as it won't do to ignore that specific someone, only to find out about Arshaq.
His father was a firm believer of karma as well as someone who deemed himself honorable, and with great conviction, he took them in despite the onslaught of criticism bound to follow. He didn't want this mistake to bite him back in the future, and if it would, then it would be in his own terms. True enough, his return was welcomed with anger and humiliation. The Ryouya family business suffered a big drop in sales, and they were near plunged into bankruptcy. Social circles ostracized them, but it was also fortunate that some accepted them all the same. All due to his previous philanthropic efforts, they were supported by a small minority, and the scandal passed after several arduous years.
When things were settled, Arul was then born - a half-spirit from his father's side - and again a mistake, but also a happy one. He grew in a hostile environment, but there was his brother Arshaq to fend for him. It helped that there were always a few kids who would look past his differences to hang out with, but Arul grew bitter about his lineage all the same. He developed a complex about his own complexion, claiming that if, maybe, he were a little lighter, a little paler, maybe he could fit in and not stand out. As much as he loved his two parents, this was one thing he couldn't let go of.
After him was then his baby brother named Amir whom he loved greatly. An adorable bubble of joy in his life that unfortunately came at the cost of his mother's life. His birth had weakened his mother in a time of illness, and just like that she was gone. The baby was healthy, but the mother passed, leaving the three siblings in the living world.

- His eldest brother is 26, his youngest only 17 months.
- Arshaq has no horns, due to a significant event that affected Arul even to this day.
- Arul is now working under his father, slowly learning of the business' responsibilities that he would rather get away from.
